The Artist

Strong, powerful paintings that stir emotions and appeal to the passions are Map Abday's trademark. “When I paint,” she says, “I try to touch people with what I do. I want to arouse their hopes, fears and passions. I want to make people feel their emotions.” (Michael Moore, Phuket magazine)

Map Abday was born in Southern Thailand but spent most of her time in Bangkok were she studied at Thaivichitsilp Art School and Poh-chang Art Institution. Her travels while working as interior designer for "La Scala"  in, Spain, France and Italy sparked the realization of becoming an artist. Currently she lives in Phuket with her Canadian husband, Kenneth Abday and two children Karyth & Karina.
